Extract from war diary of 2nd Bn, 22nd (Cheshire) Regiment

BARAKLI-DEUMA

Battalion relieved at DOLAP and BARAKLI-DEUMA by 1st Suffolk Regt. and 1st Welch Regt. respectively. Letters ‘A’ ‘C’ and 2 platoons ‘D’ Coy. proceeded to ELISAN and occupied billets vacated by 1/Suffolk Regt. Letter ‘A’ Co. and 2 Platoons ‘D’ Co. proceeded to KOPRIVA and occupied billets vacated by 1/Welch Regiment.

Relieve completed and companies settled in their billets by 9.30pm. Battalion held in Brigade

Reserve after 2 months trench work (continuous).
