Extract from the diary of Maj P K Glazebrook, Cheshire Yeomanry, Egypt Expeditionary Force

Convoy day, consequently no parades. The Colonel came over in the morning to talk over the providing of men for the Lewis gun section. There is still no news of our fate as a regiment, & they do not seem to be quite sure now even about Lonsdale having command of the new battalion. I had a slack afternoon reading on my bed. A new Bikanir officer called Murray came up in place of Tippex, & I celebrated his arrival by robbing him of 54 PT at Bridge.con
