10 February 1917

Extract from the diary of Maj P K Glazebrook, Cheshire Yeomanry, Egypt Expeditionary Force

A convoy arrived in the morning, & with the exception of fatigues etc, it was an idle day. Noel Brooks, who rejoices in the name of “Tuppence” for some unknown reason, came up to stay  the week-end with me, and shared my tent. Partridge, Williams, Davidson & Leslie came back from their motor raid on Siva, having had a most interesting & exiting time. They had a good fight, with considerable success, & the Senussi were completely driven out of the oasis, & have vanished.
