Extract from the diary of Maj P K Glazebrook, Cheshire Yeomanry, Egypt Expeditionary Force

Rather warmer night, & a decent sleep. A chaplain came round and gave us a communion service in our fig-grove. I was pestered for “returns” of men’s trades in private life etc.. No excitements except the usual aeroplanes. Bulgarian cavalry are reported in front of us.
