Extract from war diary of 1st Bn, 22nd (Cheshire) Regiment


2/Lt C.G. Edwards & 1 OR proceeded on leave.

Battalion in same position.  A quiet day with considerable aeroplane activity and some shelling after dark when battalion was employed in improving and completing firing line trench, wiring in front of it and deepening communication trench.  Salvage was also done.

Weather fine with sun.

Casualties O.R’s 1 died of wounds.
