Extract from war diary of 10th Bn, 22nd (Cheshire) Regiment

Halfway House

The Battalion (less B Company) were relieved by 2 Companies of the 3rd Bn WORCESTERSHIRE REGT at dawn and proceeded, on relief to HALFWAY HOUSE dugouts.  The dispositions of the Battalion after relief were as follows

Bn HQ.  A Coy  D Coy in HALFWAY HOUSE dugouts.   B Coy – LEINSTER STREET    C Coy – WEST STREET.   The remainder of day was spent in cleaning up HALFWAY HOUSE was subjected to gas shells for a short period during the night but it was only necessary to wear Box Respirators for about 5 minutes.
