Extract from war diary of 1st Bn, 22nd (Cheshire) Regiment


Bn remained in the same positions the whole of the day – several suggested attacks being cancelled.

Enemy Machine Gunners and Snipers were active throughout.

During the night of 29th / 30th, the Bn moved into assembly positions in HOLLY Trench and HOLLY Support.

On this occasion “C” and “D” Coys were in front.  “C” on right and “D” on left.  “A” and “B” Coys were in support.
