A Coy relieved pioneer company of 11th S. LANCS for work on railway construction, they worked during the night in I 18. a. and are billeted in bivouac at H. 23. c 2.3.

Extract from war diary of 9th Bn, 22nd (Cheshire) Regiment

The battn. was relieved by the 7th South Lancs., and marched into DE ZON Camp LA CLYTTE taking over from the 6th Wilts. Regt., during the afternoon a party of 365 strong under Capt A.R. WALTON proceeded to DRANOUTRE for work on railway construction.
